SUMMARY:The Drifters
DESCRIPTION:A Half Century of Classic American Music \nUp on the Roof.  Under the Boardwalk.  This Magic Moment. There Goes My Baby.  Dance with Me.  Spanish Harlem.  Stand by Me.   \nThe list of hits goes on and on. \nTHE DRIFTERS…one of Rock & Roll’s founding vocal groups is once again touring the United States under the auspices of their original management team. \nFrom their inception in the early 1950’s and up until recently\, THE DRIFTERS has a symbiotic relationship with Rock & Roll legend George Treadwell\, who has discovered and managed such famous artists as Dinah Washington\, Sarah Vaughn and Nina Simone.  The Treadwell Family was there when the original DRIFTERS formed and was responsible for guiding their career through 20 years of uninterrupted hits that has made them the second most successful recording artist of all time\, according to Billboard Magazine. \nOnce again the Treadwell family has put THE DRIFTERS back on tour in the United States – a monumental reunion celebrating their 50-year catalog of memorable hits.  \nSponsored by Woodside Senior Communities

SUMMARY:Garrison Keillor Tonight
DESCRIPTION:Garrison Keillor Tonight is an evening of stand-up\, storytelling\, audience song\,\nand poetry. One man\, one microphone. There are sung sonnets\, limericks and\nmusical jokes\, and the thread that runs through it is the beauty of growing old.\nDespite the inconvenience\, old age brings the contentment of LESS IS MORE.\nYour mistakes and big ambitions are behind you\, nothing left to prove\, and small\nthings give you great pleasure because that’s what’s left. (“I was unhappy in\ncollege because it was a requirement for an intellectual\, but then I went into show\nbusiness and discovered that people won’t pay to be made unhappy\, their kids will\ndo it for free.”) \nThere is the News from Lake Wobegon\, a town booming with new entrepreneurs\,\nmakers of artisanal firewood and gourmet meatloaf\, breeders of composting\nworms\, and dogs trained to do childcare. But some things endure\, such as the\nformation of the Living Flag on Main Street\, citizens in tight formation wearing\nred\, white or blue caps\, and Mr. Keillor among them\, standing close to old\nneighbors\, Myrtle Krebsbach (“Truckstop”) and Julie Christensen (“Bruno\, The\nFishing Dog”) and Clint Bunsen. And an a cappella sing-along with the audience\nsinging from memory an odd medley of patriotic songs\, pop standards\, hymns\, and\nending with the national anthem. \nSponsored by Dolly’s Manure Fund: Helping Things To Grow

SUMMARY:Carson Molle
DESCRIPTION:Free and open to the public.  No tickets required.  Approximately 2 hours in length. \nCarson Molle lives in the small midwest town of Seymour\, WI. In 2017 his life changed dramatically when at just 14 years old he attempted suicide. Despite traumatic circumstances\, by the grace of God\, Carson lived to share his story. He was left with significant physical injuries\, as well as emotional and psychological trauma. In the face of this difficult situation\, Carson and his family decided early on that they were going to share their journey in order to help others. Carson’s recovery can provide hope for those who may have experienced the same feelings. Now a 20-year-old survivor\, Carson has spent several years breaking down the stigma surrounding suicide and mental health by sharing the honest and open account of his struggles. Carson has appeared at mental health benefits\, such as the Be the Light Walk in Green Bay\, and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin’s Holiday of Miracles Telethon. He has spoken with members of Congress to lobby for increased funding for mental health care in schools and clinics. \nWe invite parents and children grades 6 and up to attend. This event will have honest and open discussions about mental health and suicide. We will talk about breaking the stigmas of mental health. We will also hear from Carsons’ parents\, Matt and Amber and what they wish they knew from a parent’s perspective. \nSponsored by Ashwaubenon School District \nWI Suicide & Crisis Line: text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org
