DESCRIPTION:IMPORTANT UPDATE\nDue to a current lapse of appropriations\, a.k.a. the government shutdown\, the United States Navy Band Commodores has needed to cancel its intended 2025 Midwest tour\, including the performance at the Ashwaubenon PAC. \n——————– \nThe United States Navy Band Commodores jazz ensemble from Washington\, D.C. will perform a free concert as part of the band’s 2025 Midwest tour.  The concert is a family-friendly event\, connecting members of the community to their Navy. \nThe U.S. Navy Band Commodores perform the best of big band jazz from WWII swing-era classics by jazz giants Duke Ellington\, Count Basie and Artie Shaw to modern masters such as Bob Brookmeyer and Pat Metheny. The band also highlights the music of legendary vocalists such as Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan\, as well as unique and exciting original compositions by members of the band. \nAs the Navy’s premier jazz ensemble\, the Commodores have been performing the very best of big band jazz for the Navy and the nation for more than 50 years. Formed in 1969\, this 18-member group continues the jazz big band legacy with some of the finest musicians in the world. The Commodores’ mission includes public concerts\, national concert tours\, ceremonial support in honoring our veterans\, jazz education classes and clinics\, and protocol performances for high-level military and civilian government officials. \n2025 marks the U.S. Navy’s 250th birthday\, giving jazz and big band fans an even greater cause to celebrate Sailors serving around the world\, preserving peace through strength. \nTICKET INFORMATION \nThis concert is offered free-of charge\, though advance ticket reservations are required to attend. Ticket reservations for this special U.S. Navy Band event are available ONLY through the weblink below: \nUnited States Navy Band Commodores TICKET LINK \nThere is a six-ticket limit per reservation.  Seating is general admission.  Lobby doors open at 6:00 PM. \nTicket-holders must be seated at least 15 minutes prior to the concert\, at which time any unclaimed seats will be given to non-ticket holders. \nThis event is supported by RODAC Development & Construction.
