Production blends romance, comedy, and innovative storytelling
The Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center (ASHPAC) is delighted to announce the upcoming production of My Unauthorized Hallmark Movie Musical: Love Always Wins on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. Part of the ASHPAC’s Touring Series, the production playfully pokes fun at the romantic comedy genre.
The show follows a “super fan” who attempts to create her own Hallmark-style movie, only to find her fictional characters taking on lives of their own and rewriting the script! The heartwarming story is delivered through astounding technical innovation: a single live actor interacts seamlessly with a cast of eight characters who appear in her imagination via video projection.
Like the leads in Hallmark movies it so successfully spoofs, Love Always Wins has critics falling head over heels. “The concept is brilliant. So is the execution,” noted Aisle Seat Review, which named the show a Critic’s Pick. Fanboy Nation calls it “unforgettable,” “mesmerizing ” “vibrant,” and “hilarious.” The show has also drawn praise for its “life-affirming” message and clever use of rom-com tropes.
The production has charmed audiences on multiple continents, including a run at the prestigious Edinburgh Fringe Festival. It now invites Northeast Wisconsin to escape from the day-to-day and embrace a story of pure joy in which love always wins!
