John McGivern to Bring Nicest and Naughtiest Holiday Tales to Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center

The Emmy award-winning entertainer returns with heartwarming and humorous stories from his Wisconsin childhood

The Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center (ASHPAC) is excited to welcome John McGivern’s Holiday Tales to its stage Tuesday, December 2 at 7:00 PM. The well-known actor, writer, and TV host is presenting his popular one-man show that is chock full of humorous, heartfelt holiday stories from his childhood in Wisconsin.

McGivern grew up on Milwaukee’s East Side during the 1960s as the third of six children. This deep connection to the Badger State is why he’s famous for taking audiences back to a simpler time, weaving nostalgic storytelling with impeccable comedic timing. At times it may feel as if McGivern is recounting your memories, not his, as he recalls snow days, Thanksgiving dinners, handmade Christmas toys, the annual WE Energies Christmas Cookie Book, and many a New Year’s Eve spent celebrating in the family’s finished basement.

McGivern made a name for himself through a storied career lasting more than thirty years. His Emmy Award-winning PBS series “Around the Corner with John McGivern” ran for nine seasons, and his more recent show, “John McGivern’s Main Streets,” is currently in its fourth season. He wrote a column for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel for two years and contributed to Milwaukee Magazine for two years. McGivern also appeared in the 2001 hit movie “The Princess Diaries,” in which he was knighted by the esteemed Julie Andrews.

John McGivern’s Holiday Tales is sponsored by Khrome. Tickets are on sale now for $45.75 and $39.75, with all taxes and fees now included in the price. This all-in pricing model provides better transparency for patrons at the start of their purchasing experience. To order, call (920) 494-3401 or visit ashwaubenonpac.org.
