The March 19 “Now in Technicolor” show will have audience members clapping, snapping, tapping and singing along to fondly remembered tunes
Four Guyz in Dinner Jackets, Milwaukee’s premiere doo-wop group, brings swinging beats and notes of nostalgia back to the Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center on Saturday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m.
The foursome’s energetic musical cabaret blends stirring vocal harmony, captivating choreography, and quick-witted humor. Its current production, “Now in Technicolor,” takes audiences back to the transformative era of the 1950s, 60s and 70s – decades when musical entertainment primarily reached people through the television set. Delivering delightful snapshots of “boomer life” through music, comedy and lighthearted audience participation, the show harkens back to the Golden Age of Entertainment with classic doo-wop, pop, rock and bubble gum music. The Four Guyz specialize in singing four-part harmony and are supported by drums, bass and a piano.
All veterans of professional musical theater, the Four Guyz began singing together at Milwaukee’s Italian Community Center, before expanding their reach to venues across Wisconsin and the Midwest. Its members have produced dozens of unique shows together over the group’s career, frequently revamping the setlist with new components to keep performances fresh and full of surprises.
The Four Guyz in Dinner Jackets’ upcoming performance is sponsored by Connie Williams and presented as part of the Ashwaubenon P.A.C.’s Brodhagen Dental Care Touring Series.
