The 43rd season of the AVB Community Band begins on Monday, September 16 at the Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center. “A Season of Love” is the theme for the 2024-2025 season, consisting of eight concerts.
“We have an exciting season planned,” said Mike Ajango, conductor of the 75-member AVB Community Band. “‘Love is in the air’ with Jordan Love taking the field for a big season, and we’ll be celebrating love through music this 43rd season.”
The theme for the season-opening September 16 concert is “Reel Love: Music from the Movies.”
Music featured in the September 16 concert will include recognizable songs from stage and screen. Works by legendary composers Irving Berlin and John Williams will be featured, as well as iconic melodies from Mission Impossible, Spider Man, Star Trek, The Wizard of Oz, the Harry Potter and Indiana Jones film series, and more.
The AVB Community Band will again partner with the Ashwaubenon High School choral program as the students fundraise selling Seroogy’s candy bars in the lobby prior to concerts and during intermission. The AVB also accepts used musical instruments in good condition for use by area schoolchildren. For more information about this donation program, visit avbcommunityband.org.
Doors to the Ashwaubenon PAC open at 6:00 PM. The family-friendly concert begins at 7:00 PM.
Seating is general admission. No tickets are required. Admission is free.
Donations are accepted in the lobby before and after the concert, as well as during intermission.
The September 16 concert is sponsored by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 224.
