North America’s Longest-Running Carpenters Tribute Show to Take the Stage at APAC

The Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center proudly presents Close to You: The Music of the Carpenters on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. The moving tribute features vocalist Lisa Rock and her six-piece backing band delivering authentic renditions of The Carpenters’ greatest hits.

Lisa Rock’s warm tonal quality and four-octave vocal range enables her to capture the essence of Karen Carpenter’s voice, performing each love song and pop hit in its original key. Critic Alan Bresloff noted, “When she hits the lower range of her marvelous voice, if you close your eyes, you can see Karen Carpenter’s face.” Audience members can expect to hear some of the most memorable songs of the 70s, including “We’ve Only Just Begun,” “Rainy Days and Mondays,” and of course “Close to You.”

Between songs, Rock shares behind-the-scenes anecdotes of Karen and Richard Carpenter’s remarkable journey—their successes, struggles, and creative process behind their Billboard chart-toppers. This compelling combination of storytelling and musical authenticity has led to sold-out performances across the country.

An accomplished singer and playwright with more than 15 original concerts and cabarets to her credit, Rock leads an ensemble of Chicago-based musicians dedicated to preserving Karen Carpenter’s memory and music. Now celebrating its 14th year on tour, Close to You: The Music of the Carpenters stands as North America’s longest-running Carpenters tribute show, with nearly 400 performances across 40 states.

Tickets for Close to You: The Music of the Carpenters are $38. Seats can be secured online at ashwaubenonpac.org or by calling (920) 494-3401. The performance is sponsored by The Promenade and is presented as part of the APAC’s Touring Series.
