Top talent from the country’s crooning capital to deliver trailblazer’s best from the ‘50s and ‘60s
Iconic Vegas performer Ron Gartner will dazzle audiences at the Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center on April 14 at 7:30 p.m. with his captivating tribute show, Splish Splash: The Music of Bobby Darin. Joined by a six-piece band, Gartner breathes new life into the timeless songs of one of the most versatile entertainers of the 1950s and ’60s.
Bobby Darin was a musical chameleon who blended rock, pop, country, and show tunes with ease. Defying childhood bouts of rheumatic fever that weakened his heart, Darin rose to fame as a teen idol, singer-songwriter, movie star, and nightclub performer. His chart-topping hits include “Splish Splash,” “Dream Lover,” and “Beyond the Sea.” His talent and accomplishments earned him several Grammys, a Golden Globe award, and posthumous induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.
In Splish Splash: The Music of Bobby Darin, Ron Gartner pays tribute to the legendary artist in more than 20 songs, multimedia, and backstage stories. The show spans Darin’s rock ‘n’ roll days to his unforgettable performance at the Copa. The Los Angeles Times hails it as an “over-the-top evening to remember by one truly talented showman whose voice and stage presence really rolls down everyone’s socks!”
Tickets to Splish Splash: The Music of Bobby Darin are $40 and can be purchased online at ashwaubenonpac.org or by calling (920) 494-3401.
Sponsored by Dale and Vickie Quinn and part of the Ashwaubenon PAC’s Brodhagen Dental Care Touring Series, this must-see performance is sure to transport audiences back in time to celebrate a musical icon.
