Community Invited to Spend ‘An Evening With John McGivern’

Ashwaubenon PAC hosting special appearance by six-time Emmy award-winning comedian on April 26

Mark your calendar for a memorable evening with celebrated actor, comedian, and storyteller John McGivern! The night will resound with humor and heartwarming stories when McGivern takes the stage at the Ashwaubenon Performing Arts Center (APAC) on Friday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m.

Renowned for his ability to connect with audiences through storytelling that evokes a sense of nostalgia, McGivern will entertain attendees with tales from his life growing up the third of six kids in a working-class Irish Catholic family in Milwaukee, WI. With stories about snow days, parochial school lessons, summer vacations, and family, McGivern’s anecdotes are both relatable and inspiring.

McGivern has gained immense popularity during a career spanning more than three decades. His Emmy-winning PBS series “Around the Corner with John McGivern” ran for nine seasons, and his more recent show, “John McGivern’s Main Streets,” is about to air its third season. Additionally, he dedicated two years to writing a column for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and two years contributing to Milwaukee Magazine. McGivern also graced the silver screen in 2001’s hit film “The Princess Diaries,” in which he was knighted by the esteemed Julie Andrews.

Equal parts earnest and entertaining, “An Evening With John McGivern” offers attendees the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich tapestry of the Wisconsin icon’s life. Whether a longtime fan or just discovering his work for the first time, the event is sure to have you laughing!

“An Evening With John McGivern” is sponsored by KHROME and presented as part of the Ashwaubenon P.A.C.’s Touring Series.

Tickets for “An Evening With John McGivern” are $39 and can be purchased online at ashwaubenonpac.org or by calling (920) 494-3401.
